Andy’s Rogue Woodfire Whisky Sauce is a savoury woodfire and whisky sauce for red meat.  Bottled by popular demand over the years – we eventually gave in.  Smoky, deep and unapologetically, built to be spooned over a rested steak, short rib or brisket while it is still warm enough to loosen.

This is a sauce with an opinion. It came out of many long bbq’s, braais, sitting around the fire and a bottle that was never going to survive the evening anyway. It is for meat, full stop.

Serve it with steak, roast beef, brisket, lamb, pork, sausages, burgers or a steak sandwich with too much onion.

Try this Rogue Steak Sandwich:

Cook a thick sirloin hard and fast, then rest it ten minutes. Warm the whisky sauce in the steak pan with the resting juices, scraping up everything stuck to the base. Slice the steak thin, pile it into a crusty roll with the onion and rocket, and pour the pan sauce over the top until it starts to run down your wrist.

Pour it like you mean it.
