Amalfi Lemon & Poppy Seed Biscotti
Bright, sharp and grown up
Amalfi Lemon & Poppy Seed Biscotti is a twice baked citrus biscotti made with the juice and zest of whole lemons and poppy seeds through the crumb. Fragrant rather than sweet, with a clean finish that resets the palate.
The Amalfi coast built an entire food culture on lemons, and there is a lesson in that. One very good ingredient, treated with respect, does not need any help. This is the one to put on a platter when everything else is rich.
Serve it with Earl Grey, limoncello, mascarpone, berries or a lemon sorbet.
Try this Lemon Biscotti and Mascarpone cream:
Beat 250g of mascarpone with two tablespoons of icing sugar, the zest of one lemon and a splash of limoncello. Spoon into small bowls, top with fresh raspberries and stand a biscotti in each. Serve cold, on a warm night, outside if you can.
Contains wheat, egg and milk.
A little sharpness never hurt anyone.
