Brown Basmati Rice is an aromatic rice.
Basmati rice has a mild nutty flavour.
It is often used with Indian cuisine and works particularly well with curry’s and coconut flavours.
It is a delicious and healthy alternative to white rice as a side dish, steamed along with dhals or currys, in salads, as a fried rice, in pilafs, stir-frys or even desserts.

INGREDIENTS: Basmati Rice
An aromatic long grain rice that has a distinctive light, nutty flavour and chewy texture. Organic brown basmati rice has a lower glycaemic index than other varieties of brown or white rice so is a healthy alternative for people monitoring their blood glucose levels. It does takes longer to cook than white basmati rice.
Place 1 cup (200g) of rice in a saucepan. Add 6-8 cups of cold water. Bring to boil, stirring occasionally.
Lower heat and boil gently, uncovered for 12-14 minutes.
Remove from heat. Drain well and serve.
